Portraits
Preparation
I use natural light to get the best possible results for my portraits. If you’re having your portraits outdoors the softer light in the morning or later in the afternoon will produce a far more pleasing portrait. I encourage you to book your sitting at these times to get the best possible result. I do ask if you need to postpone your sitting to inform us as soon as possible to reschedule, especially on weekends as these get heavily booked.
The shoot time will depend on how many are at the sitting and their ages. I generally allow an hour for a sitting but make sure you let us know if there is going to be a large group so I can allow additional time. You are also welcome to bring family pets, after all they are a part of your family.
Clothing
It’s usually best to wear simple classic styles in block colours. Try to avoid large patterns or stripes as these will date very quickly and draw attention. White shoes will also draw the eye so try to avoid these if possible.
Boys look great in bright colours and little girls always look nice in a dress although you are quite welcome to bring out a couple of outfits to get different looks. Most importantly you should feel comfortable and happy with what you’re wearing.
Weather
If the weather becomes unsuitable our office will contact you to make an alternative time.
